The game records your scratch channel after the crossfader and plays the beat on the other channel. Tested rig: Pioneer DJ DJM-S9. Other mixers may work but haven't been tested.

1. In the DJM-S9 Setting Utility → MIXER OUTPUT, set USB1/2 to Cross Fader A (left-handed: Cross Fader B). That's what sends your cuts to the computer.

   

2. Keep your scratch channel's selector on PHONO and play a real record — Serato DVS timecode can't be recorded yet.
3. The beat comes back on the other channel: after JOIN, set OUT to 3/4 in The Pit (left-handed: 1/2) and switch that channel to USB.
4. Type 21 into input offset in The Pit — the delay measured on the tested rig.

Aim for peaks around −6 dBFS (−12 to −3 is fine). Never touch 0 — a clipped take can't be fixed. Below −30 the noise gets louder when takes are levelled.

Allow the microphone to see this device's latency.

Your recording offset is calibrated once with a loopback test (beat out → back into the input). On the tested rig it measured about 21 ms. There is no slider to shift a take after recording.

Press your mixer's pads instead of clicking. Optional — everything works with the mouse too. The pads light up to show what you can press.

Dark Light the pads

Colour numbers are what your mixer turns into colours. They start with values tested on a DJM-S9 (dark = 63) — other mixers may use different numbers. When it's time to give stars, the first three pads give 1, 2 or 3 stars: press the same pad twice.

Browse knob: turn it to move between buttons and links on any page, press it to choose. On a list or a number, press, turn to change it, then press again. Back goes to the previous page.
